Tara Fraser (b. 1995, Australia) is an artist and researcher based in Trondheim, Norway. Her work is often intimate and ephemeral: uttered down phone lines, ventriloquised in hotel rooms, or whispered directly into the ear of the audience, but deals in themes that are communal and pervasive. In her practice, inhibitions that constrain how people relate are interrogated, with particular attention to gendered conceptions of propriety and sociality. Through a feminist lens, Fraser entwines autoethnographic inquiry with divergent histories to construct narratives in which such directives are beguilingly obeyed or defied.

Fraser completed a Master of Fine Art at the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art in 2024, following a Bachelor of Design Futures with First Class Honours at Queensland College of Art in 2018. In 2023 and 2024 she was awarded the Kunstnerstipend (Artist Grant) from Bildende Kunstneres Hjelpefond. In August 2025, she will join Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder as the recipient of the Atelier for Nyutdannede Kunstnere (Studio for Newly Graduated Artists).
